Since physical exercise is an essential part of children's growth and development, they need to grow up with a positive attitude toward health and fitness. Not only does exercise increase their immunity against sickness, children who exercise tend to sleep better, do better academically, and are able to handle stress better. They also have fewer behavioral issues.
However, studies show that kids today often spend after-school hours at home focused on sedentary things such as TV, computers, and video games. The best way to counter this is by being active together as a family. Not only does exercising together keep you healthier and uplift your quality of life, it provides great opportunities to bond together as a family. Parents who eat healthily and exercise with their children on a regular basis are also helping them develop positive lifelong habits.
Finding physical activities to do together need not be costly. There are many exercise that are affordable and budget-friendly. It can be as simple as kicking a soccer ball, jogging around the subdivision, or even dancing goofily in the living room!

Staying healthy can be a lot easier when you do it as a team because you can get motivation and encouragement from each other. Set a target to do an activity as a family at least once a week or every two weeks until it becomes a routine. They can be brief 20-30 minute sessions so it’s easier to make time for them, and the kids get to have some fun with you!
