As a Pinoy working abroad, your loved ones rely on you a lot. Whether it’s for day-to-day expenses, paying off house and car loans, covering for tuition, sustaining your family's small negosyo, or paying for life insurance premiums, the money you send is a life line for them.
That is why it is important to keep yourself healthy and fit, especially while you are living abroad. Living an active lifestyle while working overseas ensures that you will not only be healthy, but you'll also be capable of working. Being able to work means you get to continue earning to help you achieve your financial goals, whether it be owning a house or preparing for a comfortable retirement. It gives new meaning to the saying “health is wealth.”
Here are a few examples of healthy things to do while living abroad:
Explore the city. Whether you have just settled in, or have spent years in your new home, there is always more to explore! Discover new places or parks in your city, either by foot or by bike. Just a one-hour casual walk around a new area will help you quickly reach 7,500 steps!
Gym membership. There are several international gym memberships available, and you might have one from the Philippines, which you can use in the country where you work. One such fitness brand is Gold’s Gym, which has a Travel Pass program that allows members to work out at any Gold’s Gym location around the world.
Eat something new and healthy. Living in a new country means access to vegetables and fruits you may not easily find back in the Philippines. Also, some produce that can be so expensive in the Philippines may turn out to be much cheaper and in abundance where you currently live. Who knows, you might find a new delight to replace your favorite fresh Philippine mangoes!
There is actually another way to keep healthy, and it is quite unconventional--it’s maintaining a relationship with your bank. While we know that banks can help us and guide us in managing our ‘wealth,’ not many people know that they can be a good guide for ‘health’ as well. This is through the power and synergy of bancassurance.
Bancassurance is the selling of life insurance through banks. Trusted banks such as Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), and established life insurance companies such as AIA Philippines have partnered together to bring financial protection and security to more Filipinos through BPI AIA. Considered the number one bancassurance company in the Philippines, BPI AIA is committed to help Filipinos achieve financial security and wellness.
BPI AIAhas its Wellness Series, a suite of different insurance products bundled with AIA Vitality -- a health and wellness program that allows customers to earn points from performing healthy activities, and enjoy rewards, like additional cover boost to their life insurance, and discounts from partner establishments, all by living a healthier lifestyle.
