We enter the summer season where we face rising temperatures and stronger UV rays. But don’t fret because there are several ways to stay protected while making the most out of the season!
1. Schedule your activities
Avoid hours when UV rays are at their peak – usually from 10am to 4pm – to minimize exposure to sunburn, dehydration, or heat exhaustion. If you must head out for errands or other activities, do so in the morning or late in the afternoon.
2. Gear up properly
Make sure you’re covered well from the harsh heat by making it a habit to put on sunscreen. This protects you from sunburn, early signs or aging, and even skin cancer. When selecting your OOTD, choose breathable fabrics. Put on a cap and a pair of UV-blocking sunglasses, as your eyes need protection, too.
3. Drink up
Don’t forget to stay dehydrated throughout the day. Keep a bottle of water with you wherever you go and snacks that are heavy on water content. This combo will help keep you powered throughout the day.
4. Keep moving
Staying active boosts your energy and mood. Select a sport or activity that you find enjoyable, whether it be pickleball, Pilates, or running.
5. Save space for downtime
Summer schedules can get pretty packed, so don’t forget to take a breather. Pick an activity that recharges your mind and body: listen to music, watch a movie, or cozy up with a good book. Maintaining a healthy balance of activity and rest allows your body to function at its best.
